Listers Boston, in Sleaford Road, has announced it has teamed up with Shona McCallin, part of the Ladies hockey team that won Gold in the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.

Originally from Newark, Shona has played hockey since the age of six and has represented her country almost 50 times.

This summer she helped Team GB win gold in Rio, with the final seeing the national team topple The Netherlands in a nail-biting penalty shoot out.

This was not the first time she had claimed gold for her country, however, with her helping England take top honours in the Women’s EuroHockey Nations Championship last year.

When Shona is not on the hockey pitch, she is busy visiting local schools and hockey clubs to spread the word about her sport and her experiences at the Olympics and other international tournaments.

Since Rio, there have been numerous visits, coaching days, and presentations around Lincolnshire, with everyone keen to catch a glimpse of her gold medal.

As part of her partnership with Listers Boston, Shona has received a brand new Mini Clubman and said: “I am really excited to be on board with Listers on my road to Tokyo 2020, and am excited to see what the future holds. I can’t wait to continue to get out and about to schools and clubs in my new top of the range car.”

Listers Boston sales manager Steve Marshall said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside an Olympic Gold medallist and a fantastic athlete. Shona is a great ambassador for Team GB and the ladies hockey team and we’re looking forward to her representing Listers Mini with the same enthusiasm and professionalism.

“We’re excited to build on her success from Rio and thrilled to be able to share Shona’s journey towards Tokyo 2020.”
