The funeral of the 61-year-old known as Manfred Jaedke, is set to take place on Thursday, September 1, at Boston Crematorium.

However, Mr Jaedke, of Porcher Way, Boston, has no known next-of-kin and following a fear no-one would be there to pay their respects Rev Aly Buxton, of the Parish of Boston, put out a plea on social media for people to attend.

She told The Standard: “It struck me as really sad because every human being is unique, we all have a beginning, middle and end and all our lives are precious,

“I found it sad so I thought I would get a congregation together.”

Since putting out the appeal, yesterday (Monday) evening, it has had almost 280 shares on Facebook and Rev Buxton says the response has been ‘wonderful’.

“It just shows that however many bad stories are out there good prevails and good stories prevail.”
