Annie ready to party with the Queen and other royals in London
Annie Gaylor, 74, is among people invited to The Patron’s Lunch on Sunday, June 12.
It will see The Mall, in London’s St James’ Park, transformed for what is billed as its “largest-ever” street party, to celebrate the Queen’s patronage of more than 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

The former Pilgrim Hospital worker has been a volunteer with the branch for 15 years and also supported the organisation as a supervisor and fundraiser.
Mrs Gaylor became involved in the cause after a colleague at the hospital set up the local branch and asked for help in running it. She has now retired and described her time there as a rewarding experience.
Of the invitation, she said: “It’s a tremendous privilege and honour to represent all the volunteers of Boston and District Cruse, both past and present.”

Paul Caddell, event organiser, said: “We are so pleased that Annie will be off to London to enjoy this wonderful day.
“She usually volunteers to serve ice creams for our Memory Walk, so we will miss her, but we all feel incredibly honoured, and it is very fitting that we will be remembering those that we have lost by enjoying a relaxing walk in the tranquil surrounding of Jenny’s Wood and then afterwards enjoying tea and cakes and celebrating the Queen’s birthday.”
If you would like to join the walk, contact the branch on [email protected] or call 01205 357396.
