A popular annual event, which has taken place for 15 years, is again set to mark the end of winter.
The Snowdrop Sunday will take place at Skirbeck St Nicholas’ Church, on Fishtoft Road, Boston, from noon-4pm this weekend. The church’s yard includes a large number of naturalised snowdrops and there is a map of the churchyard with the history and folklore of the earliest spring flower.
It is also an opportunity to visit the oldest church in Boston which sadly has usually to be kept locked.
There will be organ recitals by church organists during the afternoon, and in the adjacent Community Hall there will be light lunches and other refreshments, stalls, tombola and games.
Also, this year there is a colouring and drawing Snowdrops competition for children from local schools and for adults a photographic competition themed around snowdrops. For details call 01205 354687. Proceeds will go to church funds.
