It was a predominently warm, dry and sunny April in Boston, according to weatherman Albert Kirkham.

The highest maximum temperature, on the 23rd, was 19.4C (67F). The lowest maximum temperature, recorded on the 18th and 25th, was 11.7C (53F).

On the 22nd, the temperature fell no lower than 10C (50F) but on the 15th it was as low as 1.1C (34F).

The mean maximum temperature of the month was 15C (59.5F) higher than the average for the month at 12.8C (54.6F). The mean minimum was 6.7C (44.3F) against the average of 4.4C (40.1F).

The town had much less rainfall than usual, with 21.7mm (.85ins) against the average of 47mm (1.85ins) across 11 days of measurable rain.

The greatest rainfall in one day came on the 7th with 8mm (0.31ins).

Townspeople had 151.2 hours of bright sunshine in April, less than the average of 166.4 hours. The sunniest day was April 14 with 12.1 hours.
