Boots store team cycle 100 miles to raise charity cash
Saturday - STAFF at Boston's Boots store have peddled the equivalent of 100 miles on an exercise bike to raise £354.38 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
All staff taking part across UK stores have been trying to cover 290,000 miles, which is one mile for every person diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK.
The Boston team took part on Friday and Saturday.
Store manager Maria Martin said: "The response from customers has been fantastic. One lady emptied all the change in her purse out. Everybody's been really kind and generous."
The Boots team were also selling butterfly badges for the Macmillan appeal and hope to raise more cash to boost the total funds by holding a coffee morning for staff and ex-staff.
