Boston features in Crap Towns Returns, after it was voted number 44 in a poll to determine which places should be featured in the book.
The town made the 100-strong shortlist earlier this year, sparking a big debate on whether Boston deserved to be labelled ‘crap’, and even resulted in a photographic exhibition to try to show off the area’s beauty.
However the people behind the book have revealed that Boston did secure enough votes to make the cut, and features in the book which is released on Thursday.
The material in Crap Towns Returns, seen by The Standard, refers to issues with obesity and immigration and pokes fun at the Boston Bypass Independents and Boston United.
Co-author Sam Jordison said the issues raised in a letter in last week’s Standard, in which Marion Felsmann expressed her disappointment after returning to the town where she lived until 1970.
Sam told The Standard: “That letter highlighted an awful lot of the things people have been telling me about the town on the Crap Towns website, and mirror my own experience when I visited. A pretty town that has been sorely neglected.”
London camein at number one while in Lincolnshire Louth also made the book, coming in at number 32.
