Boston’s weekend of festive fun has been hailed as one of the best things the town has seen in years.
Business owners, market traders and visitors delivered a thumbs up to Boston BID for last week’s Christmas bonanza.
BID manager Niall Armstrong told The Standard: “I think the general consensus seems to be that it was a great event. It brought more people into the town than we expected so from the point of view of footfall it was a success.
“Some said it was the best thing Boston had done in years.”
The Christmas lights switch on was also included in the weekend-long event, with Emmerdale stars pressing the all-important button.
Niall said loose plans were already in place for next year, adding that certain things would be ‘tweaked’ for the 2013 festival bonanza.
Things which may be set to change would be the market layout and position of he stage. The market and the lights switch-on may also be held on different days.
More could also be done to involve the other side of town, with activities taking place in the Bargate area.
Niall said: “I think we’ll have learned things from this year.”
