Boston town centre escaped flooding this evening.
The Environment Agency had issued two flood warnings as a precautionary measure following last month’s devastating scenes.
But there was no repeat of the widespread flooding which left hundreds of homes and businesses affected.
Scores of people turned out, lining the banks of the river and bridges, to see if the water would rise to December’s levels.
But as high tide passed at 8pm there had been no breaches.
And at around 8.15pm someone even set off some fireworks - with suggestions this was done to signal the town had escaped flooding.
