BREAKING NEWS: Battery confirmed as suspicious package

Thursday, 1.45pm - THE suspect package at Boston Dock has been confirmed as a battery.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team confirmed this was the case.

A police spokesman said: "We were called to the docks about 10.55am where a suspicious package had been discovered."

The spokesman said a 100m cordon was in place, that staff had been evacauated from the dock area and the port closed.

Police closed off South End at its junction with John Adams Way.

Boston's Assembly Rooms had been opened up for an 'emergency planning incident' at Boston Docks.
