Brides are all-aflutter over ‘butterfly dress’

Butterfly Hospice wedding dress

Butterfly Hospice wedding dress

Butterflies in your tummy are to be expected on your wedding day – but now you can swap those for butterflies on your dress.

Boston’s Butterfly Hospice is inviting bids for an amazing wedding package donated by local businesses to raise money for the charity.

Legends fancy dress and bridal shop in Boston is
donating a custom-fitted butterfly-themed wedding gown worth £1,700 to the Butterfly Hospice to be sold via concealed bids.

The dress is now on display at the shop in Emery Lane and has been modelled here by student nurse Leanne Chamberlain of Sleaford, herself a charity fundraiser.

Legends owner Julie Simmons said: “I saw the dress and thought I just had to get it for the hospice. I’ve done a lot to support the hospice in the past with charity fashion shows, as it’s such a great local cause.”

The winning bidder will also receive an accompanying butterfly-themed package.

This includes a Love Links bracelet worth £295 from Maudes the jewellers, nail and make-up by Perfect Ten nail and beauty salon, and a themed cake from Rebecca Callow of The Cake Lady.

Butterfly Hospice chairman Yvonne Slater thanked the local businesses for their generosity.

To bid, write, clearly stating your name, address and phone number with the amount you wish to bid to: Yvonne Slater, the Butterfly Hospice, Rowan Way, Boston. PE21 9DH. The closing date is Tuesday, April 30, at 5pm.

The winner will be announced in The Standard and on the Butterfly Hospice’s Facebook and Twitter
pages.
