A Boston congregation have had to resort to using a pump to remove water from their church after it flooded twice in 10 days.
Father Paul Noble of St Nicholas’ Church, in Skirbeck, said his congregation had been left frustrated by the lack of action by authorities to clear the drainage system.
The floods have broken a boiler and raised concerns about the loss of electricity.
He said: “The people in the church are extremely frustrated.
“We had to buy a pump to get the water out. We have pumped thousands of gallons of water from the church and the firebrigade had to come out to pump the boiler out.
“The pump is set up most days.”
He added that authorities didn’t seem to know who’s responsibility the drainage was.
“Nobody seems to want to go to the expense,” he said.
