Motorists have been warned to pay attention to where they are parking from now on – as civil parking enforcement has come into play this week.
Officers from Lincolnshire County Council will be patrolling the streets of the county – including Boston – will be enforcing parking rules to make sure that people do not leave their cars where they are not supposed to.
Those who do stop in the wrong place risk a fine of £50 or £70 for causing an obstruction or parking inconsiderately.
The majority of the rules being enforced have been in place for some time, but two new issues will also be covered by the 20 officers in the county. Under these, people can be fined for parking by dropped kerbs and double parking.
The new system came into force on Monday.
