A ‘delightful’ animal-loving couple from Fishtoft have marked 60 years of marriage.
Edgar and Jean Rands celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary recently and were given a surprise visit from Boston Mayor and deputy mayor Couns Alison Austin and Helen Staples.
The couple met at a dance in Birmingham when Edgar was visiting his sister while on leave from serving in the Korean War. They married two years later.
The couple eventually moved to Lincolnshire to take up farming in the county before settling in Fishtoft to retire about 12 years ago. They have three sons John, Phillip and Mark and grandchildren.
Coun Staples, who has known the couple for 12 years said: “I met Edgar and Jean out dogwalking one day -they are an absolutely delightful couple.”
