Staff at the Private Dental Centre do not shy away from a challenge. After completing a 33-mile walk two years ago they are now at it again.

But this time, they are going solo to raise as much money for charity as possible– and each member of the team is taking on a different task.

Between them the group will be walking, running, cycling and climbing hundreds of miles to raise funds for Parkinson’s UK – the centre’s charity for the year.

Training is already underway, and the first activity will take place on April 21, when dentist Gill Greig will take on the London Marathon. She will run the Edinburgh Marathon the next month too.

On May 26, hygienist Sally Pedley will attempt the three peak challenge in Yorkshire. In the same weekend, dentist Kenny Doig, will begin cycling 600km from St David’s Bay to Lowestoft, as part of a team of five.

And in June, dental nurses Sam Wright, Tracey Edwards, Karen Woods, Nicola Priestley and Lola Adams and office manager Sarah Noe will walk the Seabank Marathon.

Training is going well, according to the staff at the Rosebery Avenue centre, so all they need now is for sponsorship to come rolling in. Go and see staff at the centre or visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/theprivate

Parkinson’s UK was chosen as the charity to support as two staff members have family with the disease.
