Youngsters are being encouraged to don their best festive fancy dress for Boston’s big Christmas light switch-on.
Emmerdale stars Chris Chittell and Leslie Dunlop, who play Eric Pollard and and Brenda Walker in the ITV soap, will be taking to the stage to flick the switch on Friday, November 29.
And event organisers Boston Businesses Improvement District (BID) are looking for children in fancy dress to walk with the actors from the war memorial in Wide Bargate through the town and into the Market Place.
They would need to be accompanied by an adult and be at the memorial by 6pm in order to make sure the stars are on stage at 6.30pm.
Once the switch-on has taken place Chris and Leslie will then head to Pescod Square shopping centre where they will wake up Father Christmas from his sleep in the grotto.
The Christmas market opens at 9am on the Friday closing at 9pm before re-opening from 10-4pm on the Sunday.
Entertainment on the Sunday will feature a number of groups including a military wives choir taking to a stage.
A vintage-style fair is also set to attract people to West Street, with a Ferris wheel going up in B&M Bargains car park.
