Disabled man targeted by thief

Tuesday 11am - A DISABLED man was targeted during a distraction burglary in New York last week.

At around 11am on Thursday, a woman called at the door of the man's home on langrick Road, claiming to be from the NHS and offering to conduct a risk assessment for trip hazards.

The woman appeared to have relevant identification and so she was allowed into the house. It was later discovered that a quantity of cash was missing from a desk.

The woman is described as a white, aged around 35-40, and lightly tanned with black collar-length hair. She was wearing grey trousers and a black v-neck top or cardigan. She may have had a slight Canadian accent.
