A donation of £250 has bought 16 sleeping bags for the homeless in Boston - and 10 toasters and kettles for struggling families and individuals seeking help from Centrepoint Outreach.
The donation was made by county councillor Tiggs Keywood-Wainwright, from the Big Society Fund.
Centrepoint Outreach chief executive Liz Hopkins said: “We’ve already had to issue most of the sleeping bags as we were running short - so this donation came at just the right time.
“The kettles and toasters will make up part of our starter packs given to those in need - often these are for women who have had to flee abusive relationships. They go into refuge and then are housed by Boston Mayflower - but often with nothing.”
