An elderly Swineshead man was found dead in the South Forty Foot Drain by his family yesterday (Monday).
The 78-year-old had failed to return to his Swineshead home after going out to walk his dogs.
Family went out to look for him and discovered him in the water.
Emergency services were called out at 5.25pm - and Fire and Rescue attended with their swift water rescue boat which recovered the man’s body from the water.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesman said: “The cause of his death is unclear at this stage but there are no suspicious circumstances.
“A post mortem will be carried out in due course.”
