Fiancée pays tribute to man killed by Antons Gowt crash

Andrew Racey

Andrew Racey

The fiancée of a man who died following a car crash at Antons Gowt has paid tribute to him, saying she will ‘always love him’.

Andrew Racey, of Castledyke Bank, Gipsey Bridge, suffered very serious head injuries when he was involved in a single-vehicle collision on Frith Bank on Saturday morning, and died in hospital several days later.

His fiancée Rachel said: “Andrew was everything to me and we were really happy and looking forward to our wedding. I am devastated by his death and will always love and miss him.”

The 34-year-old was the only person involved in the crash, which happened at around 8.30am. The road was closed for several hours.
