More than 400 flood-damaged prayer kneelers at St Botolph’s Church have been repaired and were back in action in time for Easter.
Reverend Alyson Buxton said: “We’re delighted they’ve been repaired and are back. People were upset when the flood damaged them.”
Rev Buxton said the flood had damaged 400 of the Stump’s 600 prayer kneelers. The cost of repairing them was in the region of £6,000, but has been covered by the church’s insurance.
The return of the kneelers at the church’s most important time of year was a little bit of good news for the Stump following a week in which a break-in caused £1,200 worth of damage.
