Police have warned homeowners to be vigilant with fears of another high tide in the morning (Friday).

Sgt Mark Carling, from the Lincolnshire Road Police Unit, had been out in the centre of Boston this evening and said the main concern was to ‘protect against loss of life and serious injury’.

He added: “We are working with our partners in making sure everyone is safe and suitably refreshed. The emergency plan has been invoked.

“With our stakeholders we are making sure we can identify areas of concern.”

He called on everyone in the town to be vigilant.

“Another high tide is expected at 8 in the morning and we have an evacuation plan in motion,” he said. “It could possibly breach the barrier. Everyone has to be vigilant.”
