Flood victims can apply for help from relief fund

A Facebook group set up to help victims of the flood in Boston is now inviting people to apply to flood relief help.

Donations made to the group Get Boston Back on its Feet will be used to purchase items to replace those destroyed by the flood.Applications will be dealt with on a priority basis and the group say items should be available in two to three weeks.

Group organiser Mark Whelan said: “Thank you to our amazing team of volunteers and the businesses and individuals who have donated funds to support the cause.”

The group’s Mark Douglass added: “So many donations have so far come from so many people. It has been phenomenal.”

Donations are still being accepted by the fund and events being held to raise money for it. You can make a donation to the group’s Barclays Bank account ‘Boston Flood Appeal’, account number 93414892, sort code 20 11 13. To apply for help visit www.boston.aid.co.uk and complete an application form, or call in to Boston Borough Council’s offices at Municipal Buildings in West Street to fill out a form with group volunteers. They will be in the atrium tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, and the same days the following week, from 9.30am-3pm.

Applicants will need to provide information about their circumstances and items lost.
