Crowds lined up in Boston on the weekend to watch the new footbridge being craned into place over the River Haven.
The £750,000 structure was precisely hoisted into position by a heavy duty crane which carried it across from the riverbank near the White Hart Hotel to meet with the bank side at Church Street, near the Stump.
Initial plans for it to be fitted on the Sunday had to be brought forward to Saturday due to forecast high winds.
The bridge, which replaced the narrower St Botolph’s footbridge, will be officially opened this Friday.
Children from Park Academy will be among the first to cross it.
