Book worms are encouraged to go along to used book sale to raise money for a Boston scouting group.
The sale will be held at the 5th Boston Scout Group’s hall in Castle Street on Sunday, from 10am-12pm.
The assortment of books have been donated to the group to raise money for repairs to the scout hall roof. Michelle Garrard from the scout group said: “We have just had to pay out for a roof repair as it had sprung a leak and threatened to shut the group down due to health and safety regulations, so we now have that money to replace.
“Our neighbours, who are downsizing their massive collection of over a thousand books, have donated them to the sale and we have also asked for donations from group members of their good condition children’s books.”
The group is a not-for-profit organisation and relies on the generosity of the local community to help with the upkeep and ongoing refurbishment of the scout hall.
More than 45 children make use of the facilities over the course of a week for their regular meetings.
