Boston MP Mark Simmonds attended a reception at the Houses of Parliament to celebrate the town netting £1 million in lottery funding.

The event was put on to celebrate funding being handed out to 50 forgotten areas as part of the Big Local programme.

As we revealed this week, the centre of town will get £1m to spend on projects that residents want to see to improve the town.

The Big Lottery Fund-led project is administered by the Local Trust.

The Local Trust will now work with people in the town to find out what they want the money spent on.

Mr Simmonds said: “I was delighted to hear that Boston Central is going to be part of the Big Local programme and am pleased to be able to take the time to speak to the Local Trust team who are administering the programme.

“I would urge all residents in the area to engage with the team and give their views on how the money can be used to achieve the maximum benefit for Boston.”
