MURDER INVESTIGATION: Suspect released on bail

A 32-year-old local arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with an investigation into the death of a woman in Boston has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A woman’s body was found in Elizabeth Road on Friday afternoon (May 20).

Police are still awaiting the completion of formal identification procedures and are not yet in a position to be able to name the deceased woman.

DI Jim Hodgson, of EMSOU Major Crime, is leading the investigation and has repeated his appeal for witnesses.

He said: “We have a number of enuiqiries underway in relation to this incident and I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area of Elizabeth Road between the hours of 6pm on Thursday, May 19 and 3pm on Friday, May 20 and may have seen or heard anything they think might be relevant to the investigation.”

Police investigating the death of a woman in Boston yesterday (Friday, May 20) have arrested a 32-year-old local man on suspicion of murder.

The man in currently in police custody for questioning.

A woman’s body was found in Elizabeth Road, Boston, yesterday afternoon.

Formal identification has not yet been carried out.

A post mortem examination will take place in due course.

Police are in attendance at a property in Elizabeth Road, Boston, following the discovery of a woman’s body.

Emergency services were called to the address at 2.25pm today (Friday) where the body of a woman was found.

A police spokesman said: “Work is ongoing to establish her identity and inform her next of kin. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and an investigation is under way into the circumstances.”

EARLIER: Police are in attendance in the Elizabeth Road area of Boston this afternoon (Friday).

Residents in the area have reported a number of police vehicles and a spokesman confirmed they were in attendance.

However, they could not reveal further information at this time.
