A group of women are hoping to climb Ben Nevis throughout the night this weekend in aid of an Alzheimer’s charity.
Boston ladies Sally Wookey, Catrina Kiss, Lisa Cain and Katie Hopper are hoping to join about 200 others climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis.
The cause is particularly important to Katie who has had a family loss due to the disease.
The climb will take place on Saturday, from 10.30pm, and will go through the night with the hope of reaching the summit by sunrise.
Lisa said: “We wanted to do something challenging and this was one that came up. It is because its doing it through the night it’s more challenging and you have to be physically fit to do it.”
The trek will take the group, all aged between 40 and 44 and from Boston, into the heart of the Nevis range.
Lisa said: “This is a huge challenge for all four of us, two of us are novices and have never climbed a mountain before.”
She said they had been training hard with two of the girls training by heading the Lake District and ranges in Derbyshire as well as going on extended walks and hitting the gym.
The group originally hoped to raise £2,000 but have already hit that target and have upped the ante.
