A group of friends who met working at RAF Coningsby have raised a sky-high sum for a cancer charity after completing a night-time marathon around London.

The seven-piece (pictured, from left, Sue Anderson, 57, Mel Leese, 52, Vikki Fitzgerald, 39, Tina Edwards, 44, Kelly Creek, 33, Sharon Beamish, 44, and Kathy Wyse, 60) who come from the Boston, Coningsby and Tattershall areas raised £3,795.44 for breast cancer charity Walk the Walk by taking part in the MoonWalk London last month, inspired by a close friend who is currently undergoing treatment.

Kelly, from Boston, said: “Seeing the 26-mile marker was brilliant and crossing the line was very emotional.”

She added: “A big thank you to everyone that sponsored us, to those who sent messages of support, to the volunteers on the route who helped to keep our spirits up with smiles and words of encouragement.”
