Old Methodist chapel could become holiday home
The Old Methodist Church in Fosdyke could become a holiday let.
A disused Methodist chapel in Fosdyke could soon be offering salvation of a different kind – if permission is granted for it to become a holiday let.
Boston Methodist Circuit has applied to Boston Borough Council to refurbish The Old Methodist Chapel, in Mill Lane in Fosdyke, and create a two-bedroom holiday let, offering a break for people visiting the site and stopping in the village.
The authority received the application at the start of December, and will consider it at some point in the future.
The chapel has not been used for its original purpose for more than two years. It has been cleared of its seats and remained out of use since then.
Despite its lack of use, Terry Sykes, who prepared the design and access statement for the application, said it remained in a good condition.
He added: “With this building consisting of two large clear room areas together with a rear porch and toilet it lends itself easily adaptable for coverting into a holiday let accommodation.”
