Oscars recognition for former Boston Grammar pupil

Wednesday, 1pm - A FORMER Boston Grammar School pupil is celebrating after playing a key role in helping a film scoop six Oscars.

David Bryan was art director on Hollywood film The Hurt Locker, which collected the awards on Sunday.

The film had already enjoyed success at the Baftas.

Having left Boston Grammar School in 1970 with a single O-level to his name, David worked as a set designer in the Polka Theatre in London before branching out into set design on television shows and adverts.

He spent months in Jordan working on the film The Hurt Locker.

Unfortunately, he was not at the Oscars because he is working on another project in Africa.
