Patients back health trust
Thursday, 10am - LINCOLNSHIRE'S mental health NHS Trust has been rated amongst the very best.
That is the view of staff, patients and carers.
Each year the National Patient Safety Authority (NPSA) asks Patient Environment Action Teams (PEATs) to report on the quality of environment and food provided and how well people's privacy and dignity are respected.
PEATs are made up of a range of trust staff together with patientsand carers and their representatives.
Once they have made their assessment the NPSA awards ratings for each of the three elements of either excellent, good, acceptable, poor or not acceptable.
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded a total 19 ratings of excellent, 10 of good and two of acceptable.
Martin Stott, director of Lincolnshire NHS shared services, said: "This is an excellent set of results and far better than any we have achieved in the past.
"Patients across the whole of the NHS have made it very clear that they see the quality of environment and food in NHS premises and respect for their privacy and dignity as extremely important.
"Cleanliness – which is part of the quality of environment rating – is of particular concern as is respect for privacy and dignity through providing things like separate bathrooms and toilets for men and women.
"These are all areas staff have worked very hard to improve throughout all our premises and service areas for some years now and it is particularly rewarding that representatives of those who use our services have been so complimentary."
He added: "Our focus now will be to maintain standards where we are receiving ratings of excellent and improve on the areas which were not rated as highly."
