Charlotte, 32, runs her own business, Charlotte Booth Photography, from her home and studio in Kirton Holme.

“I couldn’t believe it when I found out,” she said.

“The images I see getting awards each month are inspirational, so knowing just how high those standards are, to have one of my images selected as one of only 10 to go through to the final from the whole year’s entries is really very exciting.”

Charlotte’s image, along with the others, will now be printed ready for the competition final later this month. The overall winner will be announced at an awards night on February 6.

Charlie’s mum, Terri, said: “I wish Charlotte luck in the final – it’s such a great photo and deserves to win.”

The Guild is a UK-based association for photographers. Each year, it runs an online competition with awards being given each month to the very best of the entries.

During 2015, this attracted nearly 10,000 entries in four categories. The judges select just 10 of these to go forward to the annual final.

Guild director Lesley Thirsk said: “One of the Guild’s aims is to drive standards and creativity among photographers.

“Our monthly competition certainly does that, for the standard of the entries we see each month is quite staggering.”
