Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Algarkirk has been given 93 boxes of doggies treats and toys from youngsters at a Boston playgroup.
The dog charity, which has a centre in Algarkirk, ran a Valentine’s campaign ‘Love Us, Love Our Dogs’ which encouraged people to fill a shoebox with dog treats and toys and donate it to the charity.
Sunbeams Playgroup collected an astounding 93 shoeboxes with a total value estimated at about £1,000.
Cookie, a female German Shepherd who was rehomed by Jerry Green Dog Rescue, went along to the playgroup based in Sutton Bridge last week with owner Claire Holstead, a kennel assistant at the centre, to say thank you to the children.
Cookie was wearing a heart collar made by the children.
