The vandalism occurred overnight on May 14-15, and involved graffiti that affected at least three businesses in the village’s market place - the Post Office, the Lincolnshire Co-Operative food store, and the Fortescue Arms pub.

Graffiti was also sprayed onto the bus shelter on the main road, and the bridge between Tattershall and Coningsby.

Photographs of the vandalism were shared on a public Facebook group by Lee Alderson, and his appeal has been shared by local residents.

Mr Alderson said: “Had a couple of names come through of possible look-a-likes, but nothing decisive. These will be passed onto the police for investigation. “If anything comes of them you can be sure this poor artist that clearly can’t spell will be named & shamed!”

Lex Hiles commented: “What an idiot! To make it worse they haven’t even got the ability to spell rules correctly.”
