Police issue appeal over ‘body in caravan’ case

The name of the man whose body was found in a caravan in Freiston has been officially released by police – who are now appealing for help to trace his final movements.

Shaun Scholes, 51, of Drove Road, Freiston, was found in a caravan oat 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon.

A police spokesman confirmed that a post mortem was carried out yesterday (Monday) and was proved inconclusive.

Police are now awaiting the results of various tests to establish the exact cause of his death. The death is still being treated as ‘unexplained’.

A spokesman said: “We are working hard to establish the circumstances of Mr Scholes’ death. The scene is being examined and we are carrying out house to house enquiries in the vicinity.”

Detective Chief Inspector Steve Taylor said: “We are seeking the help of the public to trace the movements of Mr Scholes prior to his demise. We are interested in the period between 8am on Monday, July 21, and 2.30pm on Sunday, July 27, 2014.”

“Did you know Mr Scholes? Did you speak to him during that time? Did you see him or visit him during that period?”

Mr Scholes’ vehicle is a blue VW Polo registration number T59 TRH.
