The foursome from Listers Mini will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge this summer in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The endeavour involves climbing the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in that order, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park in under 12 hours.

Twenty-four miles long, the route includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent.

The team are: sales manager Steve Marshall, 24, marketing manager Alex Matthews, 24, sales executive Liam Lau, 27, and sales executive Ian Oxborough, 39.

All are novices at climbing, except Liam, who has previously scaled Snowdonia.

Steve said: “We’re delighted to be able to help raise money for such a fantastic cause, especially as Macmillan provides vital care in our local area.

“The great work they do will give us the necessary motivation to complete our challenge.”

Jamie Davenport, Macmillan fundraising manager for Lincolnshire, said: “Macmillan nurses provide vital care all across Lincolnshire. Our aim is to ensure no-one faces cancer alone and we have professionals working in hospitals and local communities all across the county.

“We rely solely on fundraising to fund our services, which is why it is so important that local people continue to support Macmillan.

“Thank you to Listers for their dedication and commitment to this challenge. I’m sure customers, friends and family will back them all the way and help to raise a huge amount of money to support people affected by cancer.”
