Haven High College pupils L-R Becky Huggins and Lulu Albelda who have had youtube success with thier version of the cup song.
Two students from Boston whose online video went ‘viral’ are to see one of their other videos played at an awards show in America.
Haven High Academy sixth-formers Becky Huggins and Lulu Albelda made a video of them performing the Cup Song from the film Pitch Perfect – and to date it has attracted about 122,000 hits.
In it, the pair cover songs from artists such as Jessie J and Katy Perry.
Such was the success of this and their subsequent video where they perform an acoustic cover of ‘Impossible’, the pair have been invited to an LA awards ceremony.
Lulu said: “We are so excited about this and would loved to have been there, but unfortunately school and work commitments mean we are unable to fly out to LA and use our special guest tickets.”
Becky added: “It’s amazing all of this has come from a video we made for fun just a few weeks ago.”
Their video cover of Shonelle’s song will be played alongside others at The Streamys on Sunday. The awards are given for online video success.
It will appear on a screen behind the singer as she performs on stage.
