Free training is being offered to volunteers and those who want to offer their time for causes free.
The Lincolnshire Volunteer Card training is available to everybody aged 16 and over, with the next course taking place at Boston Children’s Centre, Norfolk Lodge, Norfolk Street on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 10-11, from 9.30am-3.30pm.
The new initiative offers current and potential volunteers free training in skills that are essential to volunteering in a wide variety of roles, including customer care and working to good practice standards.
The skills are also relevant to paid work.
Participants also have a chance to develop skills in an area of personal interest.
Once they have completed their training, volunteers receive a certificate and a wallet-sized card, which is recognised countywide, and endorsed by Lincolnshire County Council and the Lincolnshire Health and Well-being Fund.
Employers can also back the scheme by signing up to recognise the Lincolnshire Volunteer Card.
It is free to do so and in return the firm will receive a certificate.
