Speed camera attacked
Monday, 3.15pm - IT'S fair to say speed cameras have their critics… but how far would you go to make sure you didn't get snapped?
Someone decided setting fire to the one on the A52 at Leverton just wasn't enough so also took pot-shots with an airgun.
Police said material was stuffed into the base of the camera which was then set alight. Officers also believe airgun shots were fired at the camera because there were bullet holes.
It is possible this took place some time between 9.30pm on Wednesday and 12.25am the following day.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
