Staff from Produce World’s Butterwick base raised £1,000 for the Butterfly Hospice recently, when they ‘cycled to Poland’.

The two teams Winter and Keneally competed to get to see who could do the equivalent 1819km distance from Butterwick to Warsaw on static bikes first.

A total of 44 staff took part over two days with team Winter winning . A spokesman said the activity formed part of their links with the community.

They said: “It’s part of company’s social responsibility programme. It helps everybody including the community benefits as well”

Factory worker Kyzysztof Mysliwy cycled the furthest distance travelling 32.2km in one hour, however, the company also hailed the efforts of Carolyn Coxe, planning and agronomy manager, James Barker, group financial controller, Andrew Kenneally, group agricultural director and Andrew Burgess, group director of agricultural.

Produce World Butterwick has been involved in several projects recently including the annual town clean up and donating food to residential homes.
