Chantilly “Tilly” Milverton (20) is running in the annual Tulip 10k Road Race at Springfields Events and Conference Centre on Sunday.

The race is the fifth in Chantilly’s “16 in 16” challenges where she aims to complete 16 endurance events four years on from “flatlining” during heart surgery in June 2012.

Chantilly of Boston said: “I decided to do 16 in 16 because I was 16 when my heart stopped and we’re in 2016.

“The aim is to show people that you can do things, even if you have a heart condition like mine.

“At the moment, things are going well and I’m doing everything I can to take care of myself before the race on Sunday.”

Ahead of the race, Chantilly did Bourne Rotary Club’s Run in the Woods 10k in just under 55 minutes last Sunday.

She is raising money for Keep the Beat, a charity for families with have children who have with heart conditions.

Chantilly said: “Run in the Woods was a really nice day, it was a good event and there was a good turnout.

“Quite a few people asked what 16 in 16 was about and I told them how close the charity was to my heart.”

Chantilly has the support of Green Welly Inns which runs The Supreme Inns Hotel and Ye Olde Red Lion, both in Bicker, and The Poachers Country Hotel in Kirton Holme.

Rebecca Duffy of Green Welly Inns said: “I get on really well with Tilly and she’s an absolute inspiration to young people.

“Any fundraising events we do at all three places, the money will be donated to Tilly for Keep the Beat.”
