The crash happened during heavy rain on the B1397 Boston Road, between Gosberton and the A17 near Sutterton, at about 7pm on Tuesday, May 31.

A number of drivers who were passing by stopped to help the pair after the crash, although it is unknown whether the mother and daughter were taken to hospital.

One of the helpers, who asked not to be named, said: “I was driving past at about 7.30pm on Tuesday when I saw a car that had smashed into the telegraph pole, with two ladies inside.

“It was a light green vehicle which had its windscreen all smashed in, along with the front of the car.

“The driver looked to have been heading towards Sutterton on the bendy road you take as you head into Gosberton.

“So myself and a man who also drove by stopped to help the women who were both shaken and suffering from cuts.

Police were called to the scene to help further, but the ladies were very grateful for our help.”
