Boston Borough Council has now confirmed that bin collections around the area have been cancelled today because of poor weather conditions.
The authority warned earlier that refuse collectors would be making decisions on whether or not it was safe to complete some routes in more rural parts of the county, and a spokesman has now said that they will not be taking place.
He added that this was because of ‘problems caused by wintery conditions’.
Anyone who has not had their bin collected should put it out as usual in two weeks’ time. Extra rubbish which will not fit in the bin can be put at the side of the green bin in plastic bags.
The full council meeting which was due to take place tonight has been cancelled because of the poor weather. It has been rearranged and will now take place next Thursday at 6pm.
