UPDATE: Bones unearthed in Stickney garden

The bones unearthed at a garden in Stickney this morning have been examined and confirmed to be that of an animal.

A police spokesman has said an expert has ruled they are of animal origin police have now closed their case on the matter.

11.06am - Lincolnshire Police have confirmed the discovery at a site in Pinfold Lane where construction work on a house is currently taking place.

A member of Boston coroner’s office has been sent out to examine the bones and determine whether they are human.

A police spokesman said: “The coroner’s officer has gone out there to see whether the bones are historic, human or animal.

“There was one large bone and a couple of smaller bones found. It is certainly not a skeleton.

“As such, we are not sending forensics out to the scene at this stage.”
