UPDATE: Post mortem carried out on man pronounced dead following vehicle fire

A post mortem has been carried out on a man who was found dead following a vehicle fire on New Years Eve.

The coroner’s office confirmed the post mortem had been carried out this morning (Friday) and that the aim was now to formally identify the man over the course of the weekend.

A police spokesman said enquiries were ongoing with the coroner but the police were not treating the death as suspicious.

If anyone did see anything in relation to the incident on the Chain Bridge Road, in Boston, on Monday morning, they are asked to call the police on the non-emergency number 101.

Thursday – A post mortem is due to be carried out later this week into the death of a man whose body was discovered following a vehicle fire.

A police spokesman said the post mortem wasn’t being done until later this week as there was a backlog of cases following the Christmas period.

They added the man has not been formally identified yet.

Monday, 1.53pm - A man has been pronounced dead after a car was reported to be on fire on Chain Bridge Road, in Boston, on Monday morning.

Police and fire have launched an investigation into the death of the man after being called to the road at about 8.40am to reports of a vehicle on fire.

A spokesman said the man, who was found inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene and his death is being treated as unexplained.

The road was closed at the Florin Drive and West End Road junctions and enquiries are ongoing to confirm the identity of the man and to trace and inform relatives.

Police are looking for any witnesses who were in the area and who may have seen a blue Ford Mondeo parked on Chain Bridge Road.
