UPDATE: Road re-opened following A16 crash this morning

The A16 through Wyberton has been reopened following the collision this morning which ended with two people being sent to hospital.

The road, near the junction with Saundergate Lane, had been closed while recovery and clean-up took place.

Friday, 9.40am - A man and woman from Boston have been taken to hospital with ‘serious head injuries’ following a collision in Wyberton this morning.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called to the A16 at Wyberton, close to the Saundergate Lane junction, at 5.40am.

They said a blue Peugeot 306 had collided with the central reservation.

One person had to be released from the car by hydraulic cutting equipment. The 27 year-old male driver and his passenger, a 29 year-old woman, both from Boston, were taken to Pilgrim hospital with serious head injuries.

The A16 is currently closed between the Kirton and ATS roundabouts.
