UPDATE: Woman in serious condition after car crashes into Maud Foster Drain in Boston

Emergency services are currently in attendance at the B1183 Horncastle Road after there were reports of a car in the water.

The road is shut between the Pilleys Lane junction and the Red Cap junction.

Police were alerted by a member of the public to the incident at 7.45am today. A woman has been found in the vehicle and taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

Horncastle Road has been closed to allow access for emergency vehicles and an investigation is underway into the exact circumstances.
