Boston Mayor Paul Kenny said last night’s flood was ‘unprecedented’ and called for people to work together to help people get back to normality in time to celebrate Christmas.
Coun Kenny, who has been out and about in the town speaking to those affected by the flood, told The Standard: “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at 7pm last night - that was unprecedented.
“Hopefully we are now in the recovery stage.”
He said that thousands of people are still not in their homes and facing a day of recovery, adding: “Hopefully we can help people get back to normality and celebrate this Christmas. This is the time to help people in need.”
