VIDEO: D-Day landings remembered in Boston

Waiting for Video...

War veterans, residents and local dignitaries bowed their heads in silence today to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

A special service to mark the 70th anniversary of the Normandy landings was held at the sun-lit War Memorial in Wide Bargate before a wreath of poppies was laid.

Among the speakers were Boston Mayor Coun Alison Austin who spoke of the need to remember and veteran Frank Thompson who read a poem.
